Keep Showing Up

“A certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful.” Acts 3:2 (NKJV)

In Acts 3, we see a powerful moment that reminds us what it really means to walk with God. Peter and John went to the temple at a set time of prayer. It was part of their daily rhythm. At that same gate was a man who had been laid there every single day. Day after day, he showed up, asking for help, hoping for something to change. What is amazing is that Jesus Himself had passed by that same place many times before. Yet on this particular day, everything shifted. Peter looked at him and said, “In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And in a moment, the man’s life changed forever.

Here is the truth you cannot miss. If that man had stopped showing up, he would have missed his miracle. The breakthrough was tied to his consistency. He did not know which day would be the day, but he kept coming anyway. That is how the Christian life works. You continue daily. You pray daily. You show up daily. Because you never know when one day will become the turning point that changes everything. One day can shift decades.

You see this same pattern in the very beginning. In the garden, God would walk with Adam and Eve in the cool of the day. It was a daily meeting. A daily relationship. But on the day they sinned, they hid themselves. Still, God showed up. He knew what they had done, yet He came anyway. That means even on your worst day, God is still faithful to meet with you. The question is not whether He will show up. The question is whether you will.

All throughout scripture, this daily walk is what sets people apart. Enoch walked with God daily, and his life became so close to God that he was taken into His presence. The early believers lived with an awareness that Jesus could return at any moment. They would greet one another with expectation, knowing that one day would be the day He comes back. That kind of faith is not built in a single moment. It is built through daily devotion.

So keep showing up. Even when you do not feel anything. Even when you do not have the words. Just come and say, “Lord, I am here.” Talk to Him. Walk with Him. Worship Him in the middle of your ordinary routine. Because the day you are living right now could be the day everything changes. Today could be the day of salvation. Today could be the day of breakthrough. Today could be the moment heaven touches your life in a way you never expected.

Prayer: Lord, help me to stay faithful in showing up daily. Even when I do not feel strong or do not know what to say, remind me that You are always there waiting for me. Teach me to walk with You in consistency and trust. Give me faith to believe that any day could be the day You move in my life. I choose to come to You today with an open heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
