It’s Time For A Comeback

“No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” Romans 8:37

You may have made mistakes in your walk with God, but He doesn’t want you to stay there. He has given you the spirit of an overcomer.

Frank Wright was the second-string quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, and he holds the NFL record for bringing a team back from the greatest deficit to this day. In this particular game, the Buffalo Bills were losing 31-0 at halftime, and the coach said, “I’m not going to waste my first-string quarterback on this game. My team can’t come back.” So he pulled out the first-string quarterback, hoping that he wouldn’t get hurt, and put in the second-string guy named Frank Wright.

Wright ran out there, and everyone else was thinking, “It’s too late.” But he had the mentality, “It’s never too late to win.” He brought his team back to a 33-31 victory. They interviewed him after the game, and he said, “I hear people say, ‘We’ll give them this one.’” But he said, “My motto is, ‘We’ll give them nothing.’” Wright was a fighter. He wasn’t going to give up, no matter how it looked.

God doesn't want you to be a quitter because He never gives up on you. 2 Samuel 14:14 says, “…water is spilled on the ground, which cannot be recovered…But that is not what God desires; rather, He devises ways so that a banished person does not remain banished from Him.” Sometimes, things happen in life, and it’s like water has been spilled out, and there’s no way in the world to get it back. And when that happens, the enemy whispers, “It’ll never be good, it’ll never be right, and you’ll never be the same person.”

But the Bible says when you go through a spilled water scenario, you serve a God who devises a plan for the scattered to be gathered and brought back. God has a way of regathering, regaining, restoring, reclaiming, refreshing, and renewing your life. No matter what happened, God says, “I’m devising a plan to bring you back to wholeness.” God always makes a way of return. It’s time for you to experience a comeback.
