God is Still Working!

"And when he has tried me, I will come forth as pure gold." (Job 23:10)

Life sometimes feels like it’s pushing against you. Every step forward seems met with resistance. Doors close. Storms rise. Circumstances press in. You follow God’s leading, and yet everything feels “against.” But it’s precisely in those seasons that God is working unseen blessings into your life.

Consider the story of Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a colt. This wasn’t just any donkey. It was created for that special moment. It had never been ridden before. Yet it carried the Savior toward His destiny: the cross, resurrection, and the fulfillment of prophecy (Zechariah 9:9). The colt wasn’t just a means of transportation—it was God’s provision in the midst of opposition. The praise of the people, waving palm branches and shouting “Hosanna,” came because Jesus walked through a season of resistance to fulfill His purpose.

Your “against” moments are similar.

God sometimes allows circumstances to oppose you so that something new, powerful, and unexpected can emerge.

Just as the colt was prepared for a purpose that could only be fulfilled in that moment, your struggles may be preparing you for a blessing or breakthrough that could never happen without going through this opposition.

Maybe it’s a health challenge, a broken relationship, or a financial struggle. You feel trapped, pressed, or unseen. But God is for you. These seasons are not wasted. They’re refining your faith, shaping your character, and preparing you for the purpose He has tied to this moment.

Even in times like COVID, when churches were empty and isolation pressed in, God was still working. He was still preparing blessings, teaching lessons, and showing that what feels against you is never wasted in His hands. So many turned to Jesus during the pandemic that had never even stepped foot in a church. They were reached online and were changed from their living rooms as they watched sermons on YouTube.

So in every “against” moment, lift your eyes and lift your voice. Trust that God is for you, that He’s shaping you, and that He’s tying blessings to the very things that oppose you. Praise Him now, even before you see the outcome, because the God who works all things together for your good is already at work in your “against.”

Prayer: Lord, help me trust You in the seasons that feel against me. Give me eyes to see the hidden blessings, faith to move forward, and a heart full of praise. Mold me into Your image and help me step into the victories You have prepared. Amen.
