Finished Before You Started

“I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say, ‘My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.’” Isaiah 46:10 (NIV)

Before you ever took your first breath, God had already finished writing your story. He declared your end from the beginning. He doesn’t start from scratch and wonder how things will turn out. He begins with the finished product in mind and then works backward to make it happen. That is why you can trust Him even when life feels uncertain.

Think of Joseph. He saw a dream where his family bowed before him, but the path to that promise was filled with pain. The pit, Potiphar’s house, the prison—all of it was temporary. Each setback looked final, but it was only a stop on the way to fulfillment. God had already finished what He started in Joseph’s life. The dream was not a prediction; it was a declaration of something God had already completed.

Joseph’s faith was tested over and over, yet he refused to lose hope. He could have become bitter, angry, or vengeful. Instead, he chose to trust God’s timing and remain faithful in the small, difficult places. His obedience in the shadows prepared him for the light of destiny. By the time he stood before Pharaoh, Joseph was ready, and the provision, authority, and influence he needed were already in place because God had planned it from the beginning.

Maybe you are in a hard place right now. You might feel stuck, forgotten, or overlooked. But if God has shown you something about your life, every obstacle in your way is temporary. He has already declared your victory. Whether you feel like you are marching forward or stumbling backward into destiny, you will get there.

God’s purpose for you cannot fail because He began your story from the end. Every trial, every delay, and every closed door is only temporary.

God’s plan for you is greater than any struggle you face.

He sees the finish line even when you cannot, and He has already placed everything you need to succeed in your path. Your faith in Him and your patience will align you with the promise.

Lift your heart to Him and say, “Here I am, Lord. Touch me. Feed me. Remind me that what You started, You will finish.”

Prayer: Lord, thank You for declaring my end from the beginning. When I cannot see the way forward, remind me that You already know how my story ends. Strengthen my faith to trust You in the temporary places. Fill me with hope and courage as I walk toward the victory You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
