Daily Devotions

I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5 ESV).

With Jesus everything is possible—without Him, nothing is possible. Jesus promises to do for us what we cannot do for ourselves if we give our days to Him, lay aside our own agendas and trust that He can use our lives to do His will.

Abiding in Christ is freeing. As Christians, we are no longer expected to be self-sufficient. Instead, we are expected to depend on Christ in everything we do. Through prayer we should give our days to Christ and trust that He can help us bear fruit that can change our life and fruit that will last. Only God can infuse our daily routines with meaning and purpose. He is the source of all good and eternal things. Without Him, our efforts are meaningless and our days are wasted.

As we seek God daily, He will use us in ways we never imagined possible. Only through Him can we accomplish anything eternal.

Heavenly Father, thank You for giving me the opportunity for an abundant, purposeful life. Please help me to humble myself and recognize that I can accomplish nothing on my own. Direct my paths and bring purpose to my days. Help me stay close to You so that I may accomplish eternal things.
