“Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are.” Genesis 13:14
In Genesis 13:14, God told Abraham, “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are.” Some of us have settled where we are. We have lost our vision and forgotten our goals. We are just existing, not truly living. But God was calling Abraham to look up, to see the new land He was about to give him. That same message is for you today. Do not get so focused on your current circumstances or who you are right now that you forget who God has called you to become. It is time to dream again.
In verse 17, God says, “Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.” In other words, God was telling Abraham, "The day you stop walking and seeing what I have for you is the day you begin limiting what I will do in your life."
Wouldn’t you love to be in such close fellowship and favor with God that no matter what direction you move in, it is the right one? Did not God say He would bless the work of your hands? (Deuteronomy 28:12) When you put Him first, study His word, and pray for His guidance, there is no wrong move that you can make. Even the seemingly bad circumstances can be turned in your favor when God is on your side.
The only real regret you will ever have is that you did not believe for more.
Maybe you are stuck in a rut. Perhaps you are going through the motions and can barely remember why you started doing what you are doing. Possibly God is telling you today, “Look up from where you are.” It may be time to change course. It may be time to ask God for a new vision for you and your family. Ask Him to enlarge your territory. He can and He will.
Pray boldly. Ask God to show you what your life could be if you walked fully in His purpose. Dream outlandish dreams. Believe for things that only He can do. God wants you to live life abundantly. Step forward in faith. Change course. The best is yet to come.
