Boat Builders

"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.” Hebrews 11:7

One of the greatest challenges a man will ever face is raising his family to know and follow God. But Noah gives us a powerful example of what faithful leadership in the home looks like. In a world where every other man was living wickedly, Noah stood alone as a righteous man. And more than just surviving a godless culture, he led his family through it.

Noah didn’t just build an ark. He built a God-honoring home. He understood the weight of his responsibility. God didn’t call Mrs. Noah to build the ark- He called Mr. Noah. That wasn’t about dominance or pride; it was about responsibility. God places the spiritual burden of the home on the man’s shoulders. Not to parade around as “the man of the house,” but to fall to his knees in humility, crying out, “God, help me lead my family to You.”

Today, too many men settle for bringing home a paycheck or mowing the lawn as the full measure of their role. Those things are fine, but they’re not the mission.

The real mission is to get your family to Heaven.

It’s your job to teach your children to pray, to open the Bible with them, to lead them in reverence for the Lord. It’s not the pastor’s job. It’s not the youth ministry’s job. It’s yours.

Noah wasn’t a famous preacher. He didn’t write Scripture. But he saved his whole family. And in God’s eyes, that made him a hero of the faith. If you lead your family to Heaven, even if no one else notices, God sees. And He calls you successful.

So step up. Take the lead. Be the spiritual anchor in your home. It may not be easy. It may even feel lonely at times. But if Noah could do it in a godless world, with no support, at 500 years old, then by God’s grace, so can you.
