Blessings in Disguise
"And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, ‘Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth.’" Revelation 14:13 (KJV)
The ultimate goal of life is not comfort, wealth, or ease. The ultimate good of God’s purpose in eternity is to hear Him say, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. You’ve been faithful with a few things; I’ll make you ruler over many.” I don’t know exactly what that means—maybe authority over a city, maybe something beyond my imagination—but I do know this: what matters is faithfulness. What matters is walking through life, even when everything seems against you, and trusting God’s purpose.
God knew you would read this today. He knew what you needed to hear. He knows the challenges you’re facing. He knows you’ve walked into situations thinking, “everything's against me.” But here’s the truth: when everything seems against you, God is for you. All the opposition, all the trials, all the hard moments—God is working them for your good and for His eternal purpose.
Just like Jesus could kiss Judas and call him friend, you can learn to trust God through betrayal, loss, or pain. Sometimes what you think is against you is actually part of God’s plan. Sometimes the very things that are hardest teach you lessons, prepare you for greater works, or position you to step into blessings you could not reach any other way. There is treasure in the season of against.
There is a blessing hidden in the trial.
There is a praise waiting to be birthed that you’ve never experienced before.
If you feel like you’re in that season right now, where every step is uphill, and everything seems opposed, know this: God is not surprised, God is not overwhelmed, and God is not powerless. He is for you. And He is working. He is tying up hidden treasures in the middle of your challenges.
This week, I want you to act on that truth. Let God show you the treasures hidden in your season of against. Some of it may be a new joy, a praise you’ve never lifted before. Some of it may be healing, restoration, or freedom that only comes through obedience and trust. Trust Him. Seek Him. And as you do, you will see that what seemed impossible, what seemed opposed, is actually the pathway to your blessing. Get your spiritual treasure detector ready. Start searching for the blessing God has hidden in the middle of against.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You in the seasons that seem against me. Teach me to kiss the hard things and call them friend, knowing You are working all things for my good and Your glory. Reveal the treasures in my trials. Let my faith rise to meet Your Word today. Amen.
