On August 10, 2026, a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, causing widespread destruction in cities including Cali, Pereira, and Manizales. The disaster has killed nearly 300 people, injured thousands, and damaged more than 12,000 homes as rescue teams continue searching through collapsed buildings. The catastrophe has displaced thousands of families and prompted a massive national and international relief effort.
