The Whispers From God

God still speaks to His people. He desires to speak to you, but you must ask. God seldom yells; He whispers. Don’t wait for a big, glorious moment, but lean in to hear God speak to you in a whisper.

Key Scripture:

1 Samuel 3:8-11; John 10:27; Isaiah 6:13; Matthew 4:4; Genesis 22:16-17; 1 Kings 19:11-17; Matthew 25:23; Isaiah 50:4

Key Points:

  1. God has a whisper for you. Regardless of your age or who you are, God will speak to you, especially in times of transition, to give direction.
  2. Pray for Samuel's ears. God has a plan for you, and He will speak to you about it if you listen. You need ears like Samuel to hear God’s voice and say, “Speak to me, Lord. Here I am!” People are counting on you to hear the whisper of God.
  3. Whispers require you to step out. Sometimes God’s whisper is just a “maybe” and requires courage. Eliminate plan b, get out of your comfort zone, and obey the voice of the Lord.
  4. Don’t proceed with your plans without hearing the proceeding voice of God. When you listen to God’s voice, He will instruct you on how to proceed with your life. God will give you new directions if you are listening.
  5. When God gives you a whisper, it’s about others. One word from God can save souls and change the eternities of generations. Don’t let “boat people” talk you out of water-walking when Jesus asks you to come. If you step out, He will hold you up. Even if you mess up, He will take your hand.
  6. Your greatest whispers are not in your past but in your future. God’s best plans are ahead of you, not behind you. God is still speaking, and one day, He will speak to you to come home to Him in heaven.

Final Thoughts:

God is still speaking, and you can hear His voice if you want to. The greatest whispers from God are not in your past but in your future. So, pray to have Samuel's ears and be willing to do whatever God tells you.
